Playtech Announces John Jackson as New Board Member

There have been two notable changes at Playtech this week with a non-executive Deputy Chairman stepping down, and Playtech’s announcement that John Jackson will be a new board member.

Jackson to Sit on Several Playtech Committees

John Jackson, well-known in the business world, will be joining Playtech’s Board of Directors. He will be sitting on various committees, including the Risk and Compliance Committee, the Audit Committee, the Board’s Remuneration Committee, and the Nominations Committee. Jackson will be joining Playtech as of January 1st, 2016. With his vast experience in the consumer industry, he is expected to bring both knowledge and experience with him to Playtech.

Jackson currently holds non-executive positions as the Chairman of the Rick Stein Group, and a non-executive director of Wilkinson’s Hardware Stores Limited. He is also a senior independent director of Game Digital plc.

Jackson has held a number of senior positions at well known companies since he qualified as a Chartered Certified Corporate Accountant (FCCA) in 1971. Most recently, he has been the Chief Executive of Jamie Oliver Holdings Limited from 2007 until 2015. He was the Retail and Leisure Director of the Virgin Group Limited between 1998 and 2007. Between 1994 and 1998, he was the Chief Executive of Semara plc, and from 1988 to 1993, the was the Managing Director of The Body Shop International plc.

He brings a wealth of consumer industry experience to the Company, having worked with some of the most iconic brands of the last 30 years. This, combined with his strong accountancy and finance background, will prove invaluable to Playtech’s continued growth.”

Hilary Stewart-Jones Steps Down from Playtech’s Board

Hilary Stewart-Jones, Playtech’s non-executive Deputy Chairman will be leaving Playtech. She will be pursuing other business interests, and will end her time on Playtech’s Board of Directors on December 31st, 2015.

Alan Jackson thanked Stewart-Jones for her service to Playtech. He said: “The board is grateful to Hilary for her service during a period of continued growth and diversification at Playtech. Her contribution has been of huge value to the business and we wish her every success in the future.”

Playtech supplies online gambling software and services, including various ancillary services for both the land-based and online gambling industry.
